The future of mixed-use developments in Scandinavia

For a decade we have been designing blocks that mix apartments, workshops, daycare and retail on the same site. The economic argument has finally caught up with the civic one: mixed-use is cheaper to service, safer after dark and measurably happier. Our recent waterfront project in Gothenburg sets five programmes on one parcel, and the ground floor is leased to bakers, bookbinders and a boatyard.
